HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT FOR MY CHILD?
WHAT TO EXPECT AT MY CHILD'S FIRST APPOINTMENT
We want to make it easy on parents and kids when it comes to booking appointments. That’s why we ask you to complete our “Request an Initial Child Appointment” form first. You can nominate your preferred day and time from the options listed and we will contact you to confirm your booking.
Before we meet you and your child in our practice, we like to get to know you and the reason for coming to see us via Telehealth. We can make this appointment on Zoom or FaceTime (preferred options), or telephone. Why Telehealth first? We’ve found that this 30-minute appointment means you can stay home, while giving us an opportunity to speak without little ears listening as your child does not need to be present. At this essential appointment, we get the information we need to establish the possible causes of your child’s concern, which helps us direct our physical examination. We cover your child’s medical history and presenting complaint and explain a little bit about what will happen when you first meet us in our office.
Your initial Telehealth appointment is complimentary* and if you or your Chiropractor feels that chiropractic care may not help your child, any future appointments may be cancelled without penalty. Your Telehealth appointment is confirmed once we receive your child’s history form. Please note, this appointment can only be scheduled on specific days and times, once you have attended both your Telehealth and Initial Physical Examination appointments you have the choice and flexibility of a day and time that works best for you. (*When booked with an Initial Physical Examination Appointment)
WHAT TO EXPECT AT MY CHILD'S FIRST APPOINTMENT IN OUR PRACTICE
After you have had your Telehealth appointment and it is determined that chiropractic care may help your child, a thorough physical examination is required to confirm this. We ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment to allow ample time to get your child from the car and find our office. We often have a good idea of what the cause of your child’s symptoms are after this appointment and will discuss whether a trial of chiropractic care may be beneficial and only move forward with your consent.
We want to reassure parents that the safety of chiropractic care for children is excellent and adjustments are modified for small bodies with different techniques used compared to adults.

Innate Kids Chiro exclusively see's Women and Children. This allows us to refine our skills and focus on techniques that are especially designed to work for women (including pre and post partum), pregnancy and children. You can complete our "Request an Initial Appointment" form and nominate your preferred day and time. We will contact you to confirm your appointment and it will be confirmed on receipt of your completed history form. Alternatively you can call, text or email us.
Dr Maddilyn will complete a thorough history and physical examination and discuss the cause of your symptoms and proposed management and only move forward with your consent. Chiropractic care has an excellent safety record and can provide relief for a number of issues, including pre, post and during pregnancy.
ABOUT US
Dr Leanne has been a chiropractor for 11 years. After graduating from Macquarie University in 2012, she began her career in Blackwater and has been in regional Queensland ever since.
After moving from Sarina, Dr Leanne has been in the Emerald community since 2016. Prior to becoming a Chiropractor, she worked in many dental practices for a decade, studied a Certificate III & IV in Health & Fitness, completed a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education, and taught Chiropractic at Central Queensland University in Mackay.
Dr Leanne is passionate about health. Her entire career has focussed on understanding how the body moves, functions, adapts and connects. She has been fascinated with the balance of physical, chemical and emotional factors that contribute to the overall health of the human body. In 2018 Dr Leanne completed her 2-year postgraduate qualification in paediatric chiropractic through the Australian College of Chiropractic Paediatrics (ACCP). She recently gained Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor (ACCP) recognition and currently exclusively works with children.

WHAT IS AN ADVANCED PAEDIATRIC CHIROPRACTOR?
“An Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor is a full member of the Australian College of
Chiropractic Paediatrics (ACCP) and has completed a minimum 2-year postgraduate
qualification in paediatric chiropractic recognised by the ACCP.”
Dr Maddilyn is passionate about neuro-development (the brain-body connection) in babies and kids. She has an ever growing love for Women's Health and Maternity care and recognises their unique needs.
Her goal is to share the benefits of chiropractic for children to gain the best start to their little, wonderful lives. Dr Maddilyn also strives to assist mothers and mums-to-be throughout their journey pre & post partum.
Dr Maddilyn's personal chiropractic journey began at 14 after fracturing her lower back during gymnastics training, which ultimately led her to her first adjustment. Many years later she now enjoys heavy lifting at the gym, free diving, training aerial silks, painting and flying planes. Dr Maddilyn understands both personally and professionally how the trajectory of your adult years can be improved through chiropractic management from an early age.

Over the past 5 years, Dr Maddilyn has worked throughout South East and Central Queensland and has been expanding her knowledge in Women and Children's health. She is currently completing her 2-year post-graduate qualification in paediatric chiropractic through the Australian College of Chiropractic Paediatrics (ACCP).
